Moles are clusters of cells that produce pigment (color) and appear as a visual skin growth. Often in small circles or ovals on your skin, moles can range in shade but are usually brown or black. Moles also vary in size as well as appear across diverse body parts.
Skin tags are soft, small growths of skin that stick out on a thin skin stem. Usually in a shade similar to your normal skin tone, these tags are harmless and appear in areas of skin folds, such as in the armpits or on the neck.
Both moles and skin tags can be harmless, and generally don’t cause issues unless they regularly rub on clothing, or get caught on jewelry. If your skin tag or mole is inconvenient or is not cosmetically pleasing to you, we can help at Trifecta Med Spa. Check with your doctor or dermatologist for any moles that look different than your other moles as they may want to check into these further to ensure your safety and health.
